Catholic liturgical music is serious, solemn, transcendent, but Catholic musicians are never more fun and inspiring than when they are talking about what they love most. This is what happens at sacred music events around the world: the social and intellectual are critically important elements. The musicians (and music enthusiasts) at the Chant Café, a project of the
Church Music Association of America, bring that sense of life and love to the digital world. As St. Augustine said, "Cantare amantis est."

There's a pretty splendid recording of the same arrangement by Westminster Cathedral Choir with Martin Baker on the organ on this: http://www.acnuk.org/products.php/158/resurrexit-cd
But this is pretty splendid too.
I love this Te Deum!
Now this video is just not funny.

Just beautiful. Unless my ears and my memory lie to me, I think Father Zuhlsdorf used this on 07.vii. a.D. 2007, the day of Summorum Pontificum.
Cochereau was a man unto himself. Fabulous is all one can say.
This Te Deum is on a recording of music from Notre Dame in Paris. I have had CDs of that recording stolen from me TWICE. But then again, can I really blame anyone for making a gift from St Dismas of this?????
I asked to have this at the end of my First Mass. Pastor was not too keen on it. Oh well. Maybe for my funeral 😉
I played this for my 2-yr old. When it was done, she said "More!"
Wow.
