Inaugural Ordinariate Use Mass in London

Usually it’s that other blog that provides amazing liturgical eye-candy, but in case some of our readers might enjoy seeing the new Ordinariate Use in action, here is a link to some stunning photos of last night’s inaugural Liturgy in honor of Blessed Cardinal Newman at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory, Warwick Street, London.

  1. WOW!! What a festival of colour and liturgical splendor! All decently and in order. : )
Thank you for posting these splendid photos.
What is the choir and organ situation at this parish?

  2. Organ and professional choir in west gallery. On this occasion, the choir sang Howells' Collegium Regale Kyrie, Sanctus and Agnus; (Anglican) chanted the psalm; chanted antiphons to psalm tones; and sang Elgar's 'The Spirit of the Lord' during communion. Everyone chanted the Gloria (Merbecke), the Lord's Prayer, the Alleluia and the various responses; and raised the roof with the hymns: "Firmly I believe and truly', 'Lead kindly light' and 'Praise to the Holiest'.
