I’m sure the other Adam (or am I the “other” one?) will be providing full coverage here soon, since it is his project, and I will do an extensive series of reviews as the material becomes available…but I just can’t contain my excitement.
The Lumen Christi Series is an all-new, complete program of sacred music for Catholic parishes. It contains a series of resources for the congregation, cantor, choir or schola cantorum, and organist, and is aimed at assisting parishes in liturgical renewal that is in accord with the Church’s mind and timeless tradition.
The full series will be available next year. Learn more now!
Woot.
What's the difference between the simple gradual and the plain ol' gradual?
Thank you for the post, my friend.
Ben: The Lumen Christi Simple Gradual contains a smaller, abbreviated arrangement of the propers for congregational singing, while the Lumen Christi Gradual will be a full-blown English Gradual with chant settings of the full text of the proper for Sundays and Major Feasts. In short, the Simple Gradual (like the Lumen Christi Missal) is for the congregation, and the Gradual is for the choir. All books integrate seamlessly together, but have their contents specially arranged for their user.
Perfect! Now all I need is a priest who thinks this is a good idea.
Sometimes YOU have to be the one to convince your current priest that it is a good idea.. Even if only at one Mass!
