This is amusing: AudioJungle, which sells short electronic clips for use in videos or games or presentations or whatever, offers a “Gregorian chant” clip.
This beautiful piece has the real feeling of the Gregorian chants from centuries ago. Performed by a male choir, it contains simplistic harmonies, and chanting. This may be perfect for any religious or spiritual projects with film, movies, or commercials. It can also be used for church-related projects, as the Catholic church was the original entity that created these old chants.
For the curious, it’s not a chant I’ve ever heard 🙂
I don't get it. Real chant is royalty-free. Yes, they'd have to do a fresh recording. They couldn't find guys to do that?
It may not be Gregorian Chant, but it could be another type found outside the Catholic Church. The lower voice is a pedal line on C and the upper voice alternates between a fifth, a sixth, and a fourth above the bass. It's also quite metered for chant, too.
It doesn't sound like anything I've heard from the Orthodox, nor like anything non-Western. With the drone, it's quite "Gothick". Positively reeks of YeOldenesskeit.
