  1. What a fascinating vignette. I have always been very curious about MacMillan, knowing that he works both as a composer of "serious" classical music, and also as a parish music director.

Even after simply hearing the brief excerpts of his Mass sung obviously in a rather unpolished form, I can say that I would give anything for this to overshadow any of the mass settings being offered by GIA or OCP.

Does anyone know where the setting will be published? I wonder if MacMillan would release it into the CC 😉

  2. This setting will be published in the U.K. by Boosey & Hawkes. (I have not got a date for this) – so it will certainly not be released into the CC.

It is indeed a beautiful setting, but I'm not sure if congregations will sing it.

The Agnus Dei is, in my view, a masterpiece – but I'm not sure if I would use in a Parish Mass.
