Credo: A Musical Celebration of Faith

As part of their celebration of the Year of Faith, the Choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine
of the Immaculate Conception will present a concert this Saturday at 6:30 pm, entitled Credo: A Musical Celebration of Faith. The Creed is illustrated and illumined with appropriately curated musical pieces, correlating to the articles of faith.

Faithful to the hermeneutic of continuity, the concert will feature sacred music of the Renaissance, with works by Gabrieli, Marenzio, Tallis, and Monteverdi, and with period instrumentation provided by the Washington Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble.

The concert will be held in the gorgeous architectural and acoustic space of the Basilica’s Crypt Church. For more information, see the flyer.
