But, but...where is the treble clef?

I’m teaching a first course in reading Gregorian notation tonight at 8:00pm CDT. Online. This is for anyone who wishes to know: why four lines and not five? How can I read this if there is no treble clef? Give me thirty minutes and you’ll see how easy it is. Two spots left in tonight’s class.
