Download simple propers for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C
The method for producing these simple propers is really beginning to come together. A team of diligent workers are putting together much of the source material for the project, but we need more hands. At least 75% of the time and effort that goes into producing this resource involves the compiling and formatting of texts. These tasks are what we need help with in order to put together a resource like this covering the entire liturgical year. The fruits of this labor will be available beyond this project–an online source for the singing of the psalms, with texts pointed, psalm verse designations for all proper antiphons, antiphon source texts, translations, incipits, scripture sources, and much much more.
If you see value in this project and can help in some way please contact us!
Whoever is making these really needs to credit the source of the tones. They are taken from the Mundelein Psalter (Fr. Samuel Weber). A link should be given to his Sacred music institute at Kenrick Seminary.
I love this offertory so much. It is a must for Sunday.
Not all of the tones are Mundeleine. The simple settings are St. Meinrad.
I know I could look it up myself, but which translation of the psalms is used?
@Marc
The "ti" dominant Mode 3 tone is one that I wrote, since Fr. Weber doesn't provide this. Otherwise the tones for the psalms are from Fr. Weber.
The psalm translation is a "modified" Douay Rheims with the archaisms modernized. Otherwise it is simply Douay.
Isn't the "non-simple" setting of the Offertory missing? Introit and Communion have two versions, but Offertory only has one.
Must be looking at the wrong thing. There are six verses.
"Isn't the "non-simple" setting of the Offertory missing? Introit and Communion have two versions, but Offertory only has one."
Actually, yes, this is correct. The formulas for the elaborated tones are still in development and this Offertory tone is not ready yet. My apologies.
Adam: No apology necessary – I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something…thanks.
